The C-47 is misunderstood by most of the human population. Most people look at a C-47 and see something that prairie people use to hold clothes on a piece of rope for drying. Still others look at them as cheap earrings. And see them as staples of the underground crafting scene.
This is because most people know the C-47 by another name. Teddy Chippingham. Or they may call it…a clothespin.
But in video production, THIS is not a clothespin. THIS is a C-47. And THIS is GOLD.
C-47s have a variety of uses on set. The wooden C-47 is perfect for holding gels to lights. Wood doesn’t transfer heat very easily, so they can stay clipped to lights for a long period of time. As opposed to melting plastic or molten hot metal clips.
You can use them to wedge behind a picture frame to kill the glare of a reflection on glass. You can also take them apart and put them together backwards and now you have a nice thin set of pincers that can reach into small spaces and extract all kinds of stuff.
You can use them for almost ANYTHING!
So the next time you get ready to shoot some video, get yourself a whole pack of C-47s. Your film will be sure to go to number one with a BULLET!
