We recently celebrated our second anniversary with a rockin’ modern vaudeville themed get together. Typical party theme, right? As we reflect on Windsong’s birthday, we asked the office what their most memorable moments were from the last couple of years. Once we got them to stop remembering all the crazy stuff that’s not fit for public blog consumption, here’s what they came up with:
Joshua Krause: Doing the Conga (as in Conga line) with Anthony and Sara in a bar in Miami during my first shoot. In fact, we did the Conga twice that night. The first time it was just the group of us from the production crew. The second time we even got some of the bar patrons to join in.
Anthony Taylor: My most memorable Windsong experiences of the last year, and maybe of all time, have been creating with Byron. Getting the opportunity to improvise, collaborate, create and execute with your best friend seems incredibly uncommon. As I prepare to move to New York, I think back on all the great stuff we created together that wasn’t related to commercials. “Byron and Anthony’s Modern Fairytale” and “Summer Vacation,” “Armchairs” and “Thanks for Having Us;” these are some of my fondest memories. And Sahab’s “ElevenFiftyNine” web series. Really creating and stretching ourselves to tell the stories we want to tell with no one to answer to but each other. Fighting, laughing, celebrating and bemoaning. Those are my fondest memories and the thing I’ll miss the most.
Joann Mercado: There were so many memorable moments that I can’t choose one. So, I’ll describe all of these awesome moments in single words: Boston. Schwinn. Germ. LA. Vine. Shield. Charades. UFC. Pop. Football. Recipes. PR. Coffee. Jackets. Thanks to our crew at Windsong, I get to laugh every day and it’s great for my abs.
Sara Bourbeau: It is impossible for me to note one “most-memorable” experience. The last two-years have been the best two-years of my working career and I couldn’t ask to work for or with a better group of people.
Evelyn Demirchian: Though I’ve only been a part of the Windsong team since April, there has been so many eye-opening, hilarious and educational moments. It’s difficult to pick one. From hosting The Germ 06 film screenings to the daily nuances of working with a dynamic and passionate team, I consider myself lucky to be starting my post-college life with Windsong Productions.
Scott Coulter: My most memorable experience with Windsong would have to be taking the staff photos. The whole team rarely gets to hang out outside of work, so everyone being together that night was nice. The only exception being that Byron was really sick and probably hated it.
Byron Watkins: I was just talking to Tim at ReVive Industries about how two years had past since we collaborated to build our reception desk. It felt crazy that he and I had been standing in the empty lobby measuring for the desk that long ago. Watching the space come together and all of the decisions to make Windsong what it is today are probably my most memorable things.

We have a saying at Windsong that we put on this year’s limited edition letterpress card: “Everything is Fighting To Be Crap.” It means that once you put your idea into execution, there will be a host of problems and obstacles that will exist for the sole reason of destroying your idea or making it bad. We fight for our ideas every day. We fight each other, budgets, weather conditions and resources. The good news is, we love what we do and can’t imagine championing our ideas with another group of people.
At least, until we hire the next person…
Every interaction I’ve had with you all has been a real pleasure. Creative, upbeat, focused…I am a huge fan of Windsong!
