Twelve films and more than 115 people gathered at Windsong Productions last Thursday for The Germ 07. It was an evening full of TakoBBQ deliciousness, an excellent no-host bar tended by Barekat of Wedgewood Banquet Center and a collection of short films inspired by “rain.” That’s what The Germ 07 was all about.
With films ranging from silent to artsy French to bromantic stories and tearful goodbyes, the seventh Germ did not disappoint. The inspiration of “rain” and the limiter of requiring a line of foreign language motivated quite a few first time filmmakers and participants including the first fully animated submission. How cool is that?
The next Germ is “The 1980’s,” the film submission must contain a dance sequence and cannot be more than five minutes in length. So dust off those leg warmers and study up on your Madonna and Cyndi Lauper. The Germ 08 is GOING 80’s!
