Have you caught IT? The Germ. What’s The Germ, you ask?
Here’s what it’s all about: four times a year, we’ll give you a source of inspiration to create your own film or video. The Germ could be anything: a picture, a song, an idea…anything. It may also have limiters: time limits, material usage, wardrobe…anything. The hope is that we’ll all be inspired to create a piece of a film using the same Germ and then come together as a group to see the work we all created using the same piece of inspiration. The same Germ.
“Finding the inspiration to create can be difficult,” said Byron Watkins, creator of The Germ. “We hope that people will be inspired by the germ and then come together to be inspired by each others’ ideas and films. This is for anyone who likes to create.You don’t have to be a filmmaker, video is just the medium to present your idea.”
The first Germ will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Windsong Productions, 7676 N. Palm Ave., Suite 104 in Fresno. All submissions are due by 8 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012. Submissions will be showcased during the event.
So come ye filmmakers, auteurs, baristas, accountants and librarians. Come photographers, cartographers and biographers. If you be executive, receptionist, designer or bus driver; it matters not! Come with your varying levels of technology and CREATE! Now go make it!
