Jo’s Top Five: Music Videos

I love music. I’m open to listening and watching anything people would like to share with me. Here are five music videos I think are pretty awesome. In no particular order…

“I’m a Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears
She’s one of, if not my favorite entertainer of all time AND her dance skills are showcased well in this video. Did I mention she’s my favorite?
“Scream” by Michael Jackson & Janet Jackson
When this video first came out I was just a little kiddo and I remember how intrigued I was with the visual effects and graphics (it was fancy for 1995,) not to mention the awesomely put together dance sequence of the Jackson siblings. Total win.
“Virtual Insanity” by Jamiroquai
Have YOU seen the video? It’s pretty cool. Jamiroquai’s production crew made the floor move without actually making the floor move. Enough said.
“Call Your Girlfriend” by Robyn
Because if you can dance without messing up in one beautifully uninterrupted shot, you deserve to be on my list. And quite frankly, any time this video is playing I try and mimic each dance move.
“Mad World” by Gary Jules
The lyrics of the song are really dark, however, there’s a strange peace and innocence in the music video of the children creating different objects on the sidewalk. I like that the video is simple and doesn’t try to play heavily on the imagery of pain or sadness.
Notable mentions: “Billie Jean” and “Smooth Criminal” by Michael Jackson and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana.
