At Windsong Productions, our team is thankful and extremely grateful for our family, friends, wonderful clients and the awesome projects we work on, but there’s also another part of this holiday we are thankful for and looking forward to…THE FOOD.
We asked our team what food dish they are excited to eat or cook for Thanksgiving, check it out!
Chelsea Gue: I am most excited about having what my family calls “orange mashed potatoes.” This is where we whip-up both potatoes and cooked carrots (and butter, lots of butter) into one glorious, glorious dish. Now, you may think that’s weird but I’ve come to two conclusions: 1. This invention was an odd coup to ensure proper veggie consumption in us kids. 2. My parents are Thanksgiving geniuses. Whatever the case, it’s one of those “don’t knock it ’til you try it” type things. Nom, nom, nom.
Evan Wade: My favorite dish is stuffing. Pulled from its warm cave to fend for itself, the lone stuffing is made of the dreams of leftovers past. Pulling close its warm coat of gravy, it calls, “Oh Evan. Why aren’t you eating me right now? Why just one day of the year? Why not every day? Why not every meal?” I still ask myself this question, every day.
Kyle Gentz: I’m excited about anything Marie Callendar’s restaurant makes because that’s how my folks “cook.”
Joann Mercado: It’s not the turkey, definitely not the cranberries or the gizzard based gravy, it’s my Uncle Jess’ delicious fried rice. FRIED RICE! I know! So good. He used to cook this awesome dish for every birthday and holiday, but he has since switched it up and now it’s a Thanksgiving/Christmas dish only tradition. I’m excited, I dislike leftovers, but I WILL tear up a bowl of six-day-old fried rice made by Uncle Jess!
Tony Bennett: Pumpkin Pie. Why? Two words. Pumpkin…and pie.
Scott Coulter: I’m not really much of a cook, but I excel at eating. The stuffing is my favorite part, so I look forward to destroying that a bit. Not only is it tasty, it puts me to sleep for a good two hours.
Anthony Taylor: I’m most looking forward to eating my homemade macaroni and cheese because my macaroni and cheese is the best food on the planet.
Josh Krause: I’m making Carnie Wilson’s Pumpkin Caramel Bread Pudding from the Live Well Network’s show, My Family Recipe Rocks. Go to livewellnetwork.com to check it out, or check out the My Family Recipe Rocks Facebook page to follow them on the road as they discover amazing hometown cooks across the country. *

Sara Bourbeau: I will be making, among other things, Waldorf salad. It’s not my favorite holiday dish but it was something my mom always used to make, so I’m keeping the tradition alive.
Byron Watkins: Oh my gosh… I’m not looking forward to any of that food. |
