Maybe you don’t have the same budget as the folks who made “Snow White and The Huntsman,” but if you have a camera, an imagination and some chutzpah then you’re exactly where you need to be to submit to The Germ 06!
The Germ has grown exponentially since our first screening back in January 2012. Local filmmakers from every walk of life have submitted short films ranging from introspective and dramatic to laugh-out-loud funny and highly artistic. We’re particularly curious to see how submissions this time around pull inspiration from the “Modern Fairytale” prompt and give some classic stories a new, contemporary-twist.
Now, if we know anything, it’s that Fresno’s creative community never disappoints. If you haven’t been to the Germ before, this is going to be the perfect opportunity for you to come learn more about some of our local filmmakers and maybe even get inspired to create a Germ yourself!
Remember, submissions cannot be more than five minutes in length and must include a magical item. All submissions are due on Monday, June 24. The screening will take place on Thursday, June 27. Doors open at 7 p.m. and films start at 8 p.m. Tako BBQ, a Fresno favorite, will be on site selling Korean and Mexican infused tasty street food and we’ll also have a fancy little no-host bar set up for our 21+ attendees, a complimentary candy and popcorn bar will be provided for all guests.
Attendance is free and all ages are welcome to attend The Germ 06. RSVP to the film screening and don’t forget to invite a friend or four.
See you at the movies, folks!
