Windsong Productions’ music documentary “The Art of Organized Noize” has been accepted into the South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival. Produced in association with Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment, the film charts the rise and fall of legendary hip-hop and R&B producers Organized Noize. The world premiere will be held this March at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
Filmed on location in Atlanta, Oakland and Los Angeles, the documentary features interviews with some of the biggest names in the recording industry: Andre 3000, Puff Daddy, Future, Ludacris, L.A. Reid, 2 Chainz, CeeLo and more. It tells the story of Organized Noize, a producing trio responsible for the careers of such breakout hip-hop stars as Outkast, CeeLo, and the Goodie Mob. Their distinct sound also translated into popular music, producing hit records for TLC, Brandy and En Vogue, among others.
The film was directed by music producer Quincy “QD3” Jones III and written, produced and edited by Windsong’s Joshua Krause. Windsong also contributed principal cinematography, as well as post-production.
“SXSW is the ideal venue for our documentary,” said Krause. “I couldn’t be more thrilled about our premiere in March. With the overlap of both film and music, I think this film will play extremely well to both audiences at the festival.”
This will be Windsong Productions’ first film screened at the prestigious SXSW festival. Following the premiere, the film will be available on Netflix starting March 22.
